Maserati Alt weekend to Gundagai
With all the roads into Jenolan Caves closed a smaller group of Maserati Members braved the cold for a weekend trip to Gundagai for dinner and a show. We met at the Partridge VC rest area on the Hume Highway. A disaster was averted when the coffee van turned up late but the two ladies sprung into action and quickly served our morning coffee.
The brave 10 headed for Roses Cafe at Goulburn where we enjoyed our brunch by the fire place. We then met our guide at the famous Goulburn Historic Water Works and enjoyed a wonderful tour of the whole facility. See photos of our proud Maseratis and their owners. We hit the highway and checked into our motel in Gundagai. Time for a cuppa and a walk around town before dressing up for dinner.
We arrived at the Sheridan Room to find the red carpet was laid for a dramatic entrance. The room was decorated and the mood lighting was in place for pre-dinner drinks. We enjoyed a wonderful three course meal, entertained between courses by music and a very clever local bush poet. See photos.
After dinner the show began and the songs ranged from the 50s right through to the 90s. There was dancing and singing, and then Marta took the Mic to provide the final piece of wonderful entertainment. A great night had by all and thanks to our hosts Verity and Michael.
Breakfast in the morning was at the famous Niagara Cafe (see photos) and then we headed off to our fine dinning lunch stop in Bowral. Denis and Irene Cribbin were required to take a detour in Moss Vale to inspect tree roots and then joined us at the restaurant.
The Bowral Brassiere French menu was full of exquisite and tempting dishes which made choosing very difficult. After a delightful meal ( see photos) we said our good buys as some members then hit the shops.
Another wonderful Maserati weekend.
