Combined Clubs Cars and Coffee 23 Feb

Combined Clubs Cars and Coffee 23 Feb

On a beautiful morning at Dolls Point the faithful gathered for the annual combined clubs event generously organised by the Mercedes Benz Club of NSW.

The picturesque position of the sailing club right on the water at Dolls Point means even the views from the car park are serene. However, on Sunday 23/2 the car park was adorned with all manor of Merecedes, Rols Royce, Bentley and Maserati cars from the classic period right up to the modern masterpieces.

Bonnets were opened and duco was gleaming as those gathered wandered the isles and viewed the various machines on display, and held conversations with owners and friends new and old.

Some club memorabilia was exchanged along with stories of elaborate purchase and restoration processes.

Among all of the display there was noticed a flat type on Fred’s Maserati Ghibli, Rolls Royce boots flung open, compressors and jacks were offered as were cans of inflation magic, we were one group of car enthusiasts on the day.

After a number of thirsty hours the sailing club finally opened and allowed those gathered to purchase a much needed morning coffee. The choice of food made it easy as giant cookies were all that was available. So we gathered in the club, drank our coffee and ate our cookies and continued the conversations. All except Charles who went straight to the bar and order a glass of wine, why hadn’t we all thought of that.

Another great day had by all, see you next year.
