8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Join us for a drive day to the beautiful Hunter Valley.
We will be meeting in the car park of Wahroonga Village around 7:45 then heading up the M1, taking the Peats Ridge turn-off to the Hunter via Wollombi.
A coffee stop along the way then lunch in one of the Hunter's beautiful restaurants.
Members can then either head back home or stay on to enjoy the wine, cheese and chocolate the Hunter is known for. May and June are the food and wine festival months in the Hunter so there's sure to be a lot happening.
According to their website, the Leogate estate was formerly called Brokenback Vineyard was planted in the mid to late 1970’s by a Rothbury Estate Syndicate led by the late Len Evans AO, OBE. Over the ensuing years the vines have produced premium wines which have been sold under a variety of labels. The current vineyard has 50 hectares under vine, comprising Chardonnay (18.1ha), and Semillon (3.9ha) on the flat gravelled soils and Shiraz (28ha) on the eastern and western-facing slopes of the adjacent rise as well as Verdelho (2.5ha) and Tempranillo (1ha) which were planted in 2009.
2 course lunches are around $65 excluding any wines.
